Most failed revenue implementations do not fail on a feature. They fail on order: pricing designed before the catalog, data loaded before pricing, orchestration built before the integrations it calls. Pick a starting point, scope and complexity drivers, and get a six-phase sequence with dependencies, deliverables and exit gates.
This planner uses no customer data. It assembles public Salesforce documentation and delivery practice into a sequence. Steps tagged Documented come from the pages listed in the references. Steps tagged Practice are delivery recommendations, not vendor requirements. The product is now documented as Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, and names change between releases.
Starting point and scope

Scope
Quote and pricing are always in scope.
Complexity drivers
Each one adds work to the sequence.

Data sources
The target org: installed packages, licenses, editions and the existing configuration.
For a migration, the CPQ configuration and data, read through metadata and API queries, plus any legacy exports.
Catalog, pricing and contract rules from the business owners, captured as written requirements.
Integration specifications for every system that will be called or will call in.
Limits and prerequisites
Documentation describes no deployment tool specific to Revenue Management, so plan the deployment approach yourself.
Orchestration callouts have a maximum payload of 12 MB and a default timeout of 5 seconds, up to 120 seconds.
The submit order action requires API version 61.0 or later.
Licenses, packages and sandbox availability: confirm in the target org.
How it would be validated
Reconcile counts and amounts between the legacy system and the new one for a labeled sample.
Replay a sample of historical quotes and compare net prices line by line.
Rehearse the full deployment in a staging org before cutover.
Test failure paths: timeouts, failed steps and rejected records.
What this demo does not claim: durations, staffing, cost, success rates or readiness scores. It is a planning aid built from public documentation and delivery practice, and it does not replace a discovery of the actual org.
